WYSA sessions at Upton Warren
Sail with us - new members always welcome!
Join us to sail, race and train with other young people, in instructor-led sessions designed to develop your seamanship and racing skills in a fun and friendly environment. All our sessions are led by RYA Dinghy Instructors
We meet monthly on the sailing lake at Aztec Upton Warren, Saturday afternoons during term time, from April through to end-October. We also take part in the Worcestershire Youth Series, a travelling circuit of Regattas at venues around the county, bringing together young sailors from clubs in and around Worcestershire for a full day of coaching, racing and fun - suitable for all abilities.
Lots of our sailors also join Upton Warren Sailing Club (UWSC) for a small extra fee. This gives sailors more time on the water on Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays, to practice and improve sailing skills - including monthly Adult/Junior coaching on Saturdays 4pm and Sunday mornings,

All of our sessions are led by qualified RYA Dinghy Instructors - you'll improve your sailing, gain in confidence, make new friends and have fun on the water
New members are always welcome, and whether you are an experienced sailor or still learning the ropes, you'll be sailing with a supportive and enthusiastic group of young people. To join us, you'll need to be aged 8 to 18 and have your RYA Stage 2 certificate. Not got your Stage 2 yet? RYA courses are available at venues throughout Worcestershire. You can sail your own boat, or you can 'adopt' one of our Toppers for £80, which gives you sole use of the boat for the full year, including at events away from Upton Warren
Racing or Skills?
We do both! Most of our sailors get into racing, especially as they get more experienced, but we are all about improving sailing skills and having fun on the water.
Racing is a great way to progress your sailing though, so as well as the monthly sessions at Aztec Upton Warren, we also sail in the Worcestershire Youth Series, a travelling circuit of Regattas at clubs around Worcestershire, with coaching in the morning and racing in the afternoon.. We also send a Worcestershire team to national youth sailing events with the NSSA (National Schools Sailing Association). Our racing sessions operate for a range of abilities, from sailors who have no racing experience to those who are already experienced racers, so you'll always fit in.
We support sailors aged 16 and over in working towards the RYA Dinghy Instructor qualification — a widely recognised qualification and a great way to build confidence and develop your skills on the water.
